After last weekend’s unsavoury scenes at the London Stadium, West Ham United have enforced fresh safety measures ahead of their next home game on March 31.
During the Hammers’ 3-0 defeat to Burnley, pitch invasions occurred, with one man being thrown to the floor by club captain Mark Noble.
The fury from groups of fans was directed at co-owners David Sullivan and David Gold, both of whom have been subjected to criticism from the supporters.
Many lost faith with the board after they decided to leave Upton Park and move into the Olympic ground in the summer of 2016.
Questions have also been asked of the club’s transfer policy, and all that tension boiled over during last Saturday’s fixture.
As a result of the disorder, the club have announced via their official website that for the home game against Southampton, extra stewards and police will be on hand to stifle any trouble.
